The project designed and implemented an audiovisual contest that empowered young people to act as agents of peacebuilding by promoting active citizenship, social inclusion, and community engagement.
Particular emphasis was placed on encouraging the participation of young women and youth with disabilities (YwD), ensuring that diverse voices and perspectives were represented throughout the initiative.
The contest engaged young participants from three cities across Jordan and invited them to capture photographs portraying what diversity meant to them through the theme of “Scenes of Diversity.” To maximize accessibility and inclusivity, participants were required to use mobile phones rather than professional photography equipment, enabling young people from different backgrounds and varying levels of experience to participate on equal footing.
The project concluded with a photography exhibition that showcased a selection of the submitted works. The event brought together participants, partners, and community members, providing the selected photographers with an opportunity to present their images, share the stories behind their captures, and foster dialogue around diversity, inclusion, and peaceful coexistence.
