The Rave Scholarships contribute to further practical training in arranging and realizing exhibitions. These scholarships are being awarded to young curators, restorers, museum technicians and cultural managers from countries in transition and developing countries.

Scholarship recipients will receive a monthly lumpsum of 1,300 EUR for a period of 3 to 6 months. Your travel expenses will be covered to and from Germany. You can bring a spouse and or

children and will participate in a German language course.

ELIGIBILITY

* you are a curator, restorer, museum technician, cultural manager

* from a transitioning or developing country

* younger than 40 years old

* you finished your professional study/training in the last 5 years

* find a partner institution in Germany to host you as a scholar or do a joint project

HOW TO APPLY

[1] outline of your planned project

[2] reference from your country of origin

[3] official letter of invitation (in German) from partner institution in Germany

[4] CV (max. 2 pages)

[5] a report (max 2 pages) on the current state of arts scene in the home country

The National Competitive Recruitment Examinations (NCRE) is held on a yearly basis in countries that are selected on the basis of their representation in the Secretariat.

Every year, the Organization targets the nationals of Member States that are not adequately represented in the Secretariat for recruitment through competitive examinations. The purpose of these examinations is to recruit young qualified and motivated professionals for junior positions (at the P-2 level.)

The examination will take place 1 December 2010.

2010 Lisbon Young Atlanticist Summit

From November 19-20, 2010, Lisbon, Portugal will be the center of the transatlantic relationship as Heads of State, top diplomats, military figures, and others will convene for the 2010 NATO Summit. The Atlantic Council of the United States’ Young Atlanticist Program, in partnership with the Portuguese Atlantic Commission and the Atlantic Treaty Association /Youth Atlantic Treaty Association, will be hosting a young professionals’ event for the Summit, and is currently soliciting applications from exceptional candidates from all NATO and Partnership for Peace (PfP) countries, as well as Mediterranean Dialogue members (including Jordan).

WHEN

The summit takes place 18 – 20 November 2010. Participants arrive on the 17th and leave on the 20th or 21st.

WHERE

Lisbon, Portugal

The Arab Education Forum, Safar fund, Arab Theatre Training Center, Al Balad Theatre,, Studio Emad Eddine Foundation, Dramatiska Institutet, and the Roberto Cimetta Funds are preparing for a Symposium as part of their joint Istikshaf project exploring mobility around the Mediterranean, partially funded by the Anna Lindh Foundation.

يتوجه الملتقى التربوي العربي بالتعاون مع صندوق روبرتو تشيميتا/فرنسا، وذلك ضمن برنامج “استكشاف” المشترك بدعم من مؤسسة آنا ليند، بدعوة الأكاديميين والمختصين والممارسين المهتمين بتقديم أوراق عمل في الندوة الدراسية حول “استكشاف التجوال حول المتوسط” إلى إرسال نبذة مختصرة عن ورقة العمل المقترحة إلى العنوان المذكور أدناه.

Istikshaf is a project that aims to develop an interactive platform for mobility operators, artists, policymakers and cultural professionals in order to deepen understanding and further opportunities that structure artistic mobility in the Mediterranean.
