Call for Participation: Climate Change Conference in Amman (Nov 25-28)

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
THE CONFERENCE
The Heinrich Boell Foundation (hbs), the Royal Marine Conservation Society of Jordan (JREDS) and the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) are organizing the Conference “The Impact of Climate Change on the Middle East – Converging and Diverging Perceptions on Development and Human Security”.
In total 20 participants will be chosen to participate. Accommodation will be covered and travel subsidies are based on the country of origin (up to 500€ participants from EU, 400€ participants from Turkey, 350€ participants from Egypt, 250€ participants from Syria, Lebanon, 170€ participants from Palestine).
THE CONFERENCE
The aim of the conference will be twofold: first, by amassing perspectives on the various impacts of climate change on the countries of the Levant (Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria) plus Egypt and Turkey and, secondly, by assessing the security aspects of these changes and/or the adaptation and mitigation strategies.

ELIGIBILITY
* You are a young professional beyween the age of 30 and 40 years old
* work in academics, media, NGO, IO, government and business, associated with the policy-making domain
* at least 3 years of work experience
