Abdul Latif Jameel Community Services Programs Grant

Since 2000, the Arab Science & Technology Foundation (ASTF) provides funding to support scientific research in the Arab world.With the generous donation of the Abdul Latif Jameel Community Services Programs, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, grants are awarded to activities in the Arab world.

The maximum grant for each funded grant is $50,000 for the whole period of the project.

Eligibility

- You are a researcher, or part of a research group

- You reside in an Arab country

Your Idea

* focuses on research in the field of medical engineering, applied sciences, and other sciences

* is a sustainable business plan

* based in the Arab world

* addresses markets ( including, but not limited to, energy, medical care, water purification, environmental hazardous, telecommunication, food safety, plant improvement and breeding, household equipment)

* and addresses poverty issues (for example by improving affordability, or find ways to reduce poverty)

How To Apply

[1] Send a Letter of Intent (download it here)

You will be asked to give a descriptive title of the project, a concept statement of the research problem, background, technical approach, measure of successful outcome, and include a budget.

[2] send it by email (as a word or pdf document) to grants@astf.net

Deadline

The deadline to send in your application is April 25, 2009
