عائلة من 4 أشخاص، تسكن في شرق عمان (جاوا) في بيت بأجرة بسيطة. تتألف العائلة من الأم، ابنها، وابنتيها. ليس للعائلة أي مصدر دخل، حتى أنهم غير قادرين على تأمين فاتورة الكهرباء، فهم يعيشون في الظلام بعد غروب الشمس.

الابن: يعاني من شلل دماغي منذ الطفولة، وهو الآن في الثلاثينيات، وصحته في تدهور مستمر. لم يعد يقوى على القيام، ويزحف بصعوبة بالغة وبمساعدة أمه وأخواته. تمكنت الأم من الحصول على اعفاء لولدها ليصرف له الدواء شهريا، علما بأن تكاليف الأدوية التي يتناولها تزيد عن 150 دينار، وهي تحمد الله على كونها تأخذها من وزارة الصحة بما يعادل دينار واحد فقط. المشكلة تتفاقم عندما ينقطع الدواء من الصحة ولا تستطيع تدبير ثمنه، علما بأن ولدها لا يستطيع البقاء دون علاج لأنه أصبح الآن يعاني من نوبات عصبية وتشنجات شديدة.

الأدوية التي يأخذها : Topamax, Tegretol, Rivotril, Carbatol

البنت الأولى: تم تشخيص ما تعانيه من تعب على أنه خلل في الشريان التاجي، كما تعاني من تقرحات مزمنة في المعدة.

البنت الثانية: تعاني مكن غدد دهنية في الظهر والأرجل تشكل عبئا على جسمها.

لقد توقف الأمر للأختين عند هذه المرحلة، وذلك لعدم وجود المال الكافي لمتابعة الفحوصات والتحاليل اللازمة أو العلاج.

الأم: في الخمسينات من عمرها، كانت تعمل اذنة في مدرسة ثم اضطرت لترك العمل للعناية بابنها المريض. تركها زوجها وهو الآ ن متزوج من زوجته الثالثة. رفضت وزارة التنمية إعطائها معونة، لكونها لا تزال “متزوجة” ويصرف لزوجها راتب من الضمان حيث أنه كان يعمل اذن في وزارة التربية والتعليم.

- لديك مصدر ضوء لا يحتاج إلى كهرباء (مثلا مصباح يدوي أو فانوس كاز) وبمكنك الاستغناء عنه
- تستطيع تأمين أي فرصة عمل لاحدى أو كلا الأختين. مع مراعاة مكان سكنهم، فمن الصعب أن يعملوا في مكان بعيد لارتفاع تكاليف المواصلات

A family of 4, living in East Amman (Jawa) in a house with low rent. The family consists of the mother, her son, and her two daughters. They have no source of income; they can’t even pay for electricity, so they live in the dark after sunset.

The son: suffers from cerebral palsy since childhood, his health continues to deteriorate and is now in his thirties. He can no longer walk, and can barely crawl with the help of his mother and sisters. The mother was able to obtain an exemption (grant) for her son to dispense his medication from the Ministry of Health every month, knowing that the cost of the drugs he is on is over 150 JD. She is thankful for being able to get them from the MOH for only 1 JD. The problem is when the medicine is not available at the MOH, and she is unable to pay for it. Note that her son cannot survive without treatment, as he is now suffering from seizures.

The son is on the following medications: Topamax, Tegretol, Rivotril, Carbatol

First daughter: was diagnosed with a defect in the coronary artery and is also suffering from chronic ulcers in the stomach.

Second daughter: suffers from sebaceous glands in her back and legs which are a burden to her body.

That is as far as it goes for the daughters, for there isn’t enough money to do the necessary tests and examinations or treatment.
The mother: in her fifties, she was working as a school janitor, had to leave work to take care of her ill son. Her husband left her, and is now married to his third wife. The Ministry of Social Development refused to give her aid, because she is still “married” and her husband gets a check from social security, since he worked as a janitor for the Ministry of Education.
