2010 UN-HABITAT Dubai Award for Best Pactices

THE AWARD

The Dubai Award for Best Practices to Improve Living Environment (DIABP) is now accepting submissions! It was established by the late Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum during the UN conference held in 1995 in Dubai. They are looking for best practices from around the world that … “demonstrate a positive and tangible impact on improving the living environment of people, in particular the poor and disadvantaged”. In total 12 winners will be chosen and the total grat amount to be given away is $480,000, distributed among the winners, who will be invited to come to the award ceremony in Dubai.

ELIGIBILITY

* you are an NGO, media, private sector, community-based organizations, research organization, foundation, city, local authorities or an individual *you have an idea that has a major impact on the living environment, is tangible, and long-lasting.

HOW TO SUBMIT

[1] download the word reporting format here — scroll all the way down, the application form is a the bottom of the document (or send an email to bestpractices@unhabitat.org to have them send you the document) [2] submit other material such as articles in newspapers, journals, newsletters or other publications – vidoes up to 10 minutes in length. [3] submit photographs and other graphic material [4] brochures and other promotional material [5] send the above by email or mail (see below)
